Shopping at Ikea

After visiting my sister, I went to Ikea with my mum. No I didn't buy any furniture. I'd love the have a new(bigger!) wardrobe but it's never gonna fit in my bedroom(+ the one I want is super expensive T_T). But besides furniture there are so many other cute things you can buy at Ikea to decorate your home. And if you've been reading my blog for a while you probably know that I LOVE to decorate my bedroom in Versailles/Petit Trianon style. And I just like to add cute and comfy things. So, here's what I bought.

Flowers, flowers and... even more flowers! My bedroom is literally filled with flowers. I have five vases with flowers now.

Strawberry plushie! From the kids' section. I love the kids' section of Ikea! They also had vegetable plushies like a carrot, but I think a strawberry matches my bedroom best.

Pink roses bed sheet. Because roses are my favourite flowers (and pink roses always remind me of Marie Antoinette).

Fake sheep skin. Even though it's fake it's still super soft and fluffy. Also cheaper than a real one and ofcourse animal friendly!

Mon Petit Trianon

Frequently requested on my past blog, pictures of my bedroom. Better late than never? I kept postponing it because my room is still not done, there are still a lot of things I want to add. But that is all gonna take forever, so here are finally some pictures! I really like my room, the blue walls give me a very calm feeling. When I just want to be alone my bedroom is the perfect place to be, because it is exactly how I want it to be.

Le Petin Trianon in the film "Marie Antoinette"

The 2006 film "Marie Antoinette" has been one of the most influential films in my life so far. It introduced me to the 18th Century, the fashion and ofcourse the rococo and neoclassical interiors. The film is not the best biographal picture of Marie Antoinette, but I see this film more as a work of art than about Marie Antoinette's life.
So, one of the big influences of this film for me are the scenes in Le Petit Trianon. It is so much lighter than the chateau and the blue walls give it a feeling of calmth. And now I'm sitting here in my blue walled bedroom, filled with white furniture, flowers and macarons. Yes, a big influence I tell you.

Pretty little drawer

I've bought the most adorable little drawer, it is kind of Neoclassicsm style so it's just perfect for my Petit Trainon inspired room.


It just loos like it has only drawers, but the sides can also be openend where you find on each side four little hooks, I used them to put necklaces on. The top can also be openend and there you'll find a mirror. I'm not using the top right now though, because I already have huge mirror in my room.


So I put some decorations on top. Picture of Marie Antoinette and this adorable cup I got.

New cup! This is the most adorable cup I have so far and I have a lot. I just love china with flowers on it, looks so romantic. Should organise a high tea soon with scones, sandwiches, cupcakes and macarons.

Another addition to the decoration of my room. It's getting closer to the Versailles/Petit Trianon look that I'm aiming for.
I wish the macarons were real though...
